Copa Jerez launches its X Edition in which once again the Regulatory Council of Sherry Wines and Fedejerez will bet on promoting the extraordinary synergy between Sherry Wines and haute cuisine through an international competition that will lead to one in 2023 of the biggest culinary events held in the world: Copa Jerez Forum & Competition.
In 2022, a first phase of the competition is being developed to select the chef and sommelier teams that will represent each of the seven participating countries, through national calls attended by some of the most outstanding restaurants in the world. .
Thus, the search for the perfect pairing with Vinos de Jerez and the team that can best represent us against our six opponents in the great international final of the competition, which will be held in October next year within the framework of the Copa enogastronomic congress, opens in Spain. Jerez Forum & Competition, one of the world’s largest events with haute cuisine.
A great menu and the expertise to pair it with the appropriate Sherry Wines are the weapons that applicants need to get on the stage of the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez de la Frontera and star, in front of more than 300 professionals from all over the world, in the largest live cooking show held in Spain.
How to participate in the X Copa Jerez?
Copa Jerez is an opportunity for catering professionals to test the harmony between the kitchen and dining room, their knowledge of Sherry Wines and show the world their talent.
Until next September 15, 2022, the period for submitting candidacies for the Copa Jerez National Final will be open, in which chef and sommelier teams from the same restaurant or catering business that has at least three References to Marco de Jerez wines in your menu.
Together they must create a three-course menu proposal -starter, main course and dessert- and choose the Sherry or Manzanilla Wine that best accompanies each of them. The gastronomic quality of the menu, creativity and success in the proposed pairings will be the determining factors when it comes to success.
From among all the proposals received, a committee of experts will select the three final teams that will have to recreate and defend their proposals before a jury of leading professionals from our gastronomic scene in the National Final of the X Copa Jerez, which will take place in the last quarter of 2022.

If anything characterizes Copa Jerez it is its recognized international prestige, the result of the high level of both the juries and the participating teams and gastronomic proposals submitted to the competition.

Throughout its ten editions, prominent restaurants from different parts of the world have attended before top-level juries, with names such as Josep Roca, Heston Blumenthal, Quique Dacosta, Pontus Eloffson, Juan Mari Arzak, Andoni Luis Aduriz, among many others.
